I am Kimberley Mullins, owner of Chasing Beautiful. Is a skincare regimen really necessary?

It most certainly is! Click below to learn why…

As a Nurse, I get asked a couple question all the time…

How did you decide on a skincare regimen and why did you choose Mary Kay?

My Journey to Rosacea Freedom

I have spent 38 of my nearly 40 years feeling like the ugly duckling. I hated the way I looked, I hated my skin, and I knew NOTHING about putting on makeup. My mom was not "girlie" at all. I always have been, but I would like to have full makeup, a frilly dress, and jewelry on just to go play in the mud or play "war". I grew up with boys so I never knew how to do the girlie stuff. Flash forward to 2008 when I decided to be a nurse. I worked at a dermatologist's office while in nursing school and learned the importance of good skincare. Unfortunately at that time, there was not much known or taught about Rosacea. I suffer severely from Rosacea...including ocular rosacea which makes it impossible to wear contacts when flared up. I had been searching for the perfect skincare regimen since 2003. In 2020, right before COVID-19 shutdown, I finally had my Mary Kay facial with my dear friend Shara who is a Director and pink Cadillac driver with Mary Kay. She had been telling me to stop spending the hundreds of dollars at the Lancome and Estee Lauder counter just to toss them in the drawer when they did not fit my needs. The second I put the cleanser on my face, I felt a relief in my rosacea for the first time EVER!!! This was HUGE! The further along we got into the facial appointment, the better my skin felt. At the end, she asked if I was interested in purchasing any of the items? I said YES! How much for __________(all the items I had tried and made my skin feel relief). Well, I could not afford to purchase them all at that time due to medical obligations of myself and my children. That's when I found out I could join Mary Kay as a consultant to get a discount. Joining was not even a quarter of what everything I wanted was and I got HUNDREDS of dollars of FREE product just by joining. She even let me split the amount in installments so I could go ahead and get my facial heaven. I did not plan to become a consultant that actually sells product...just one for personal use and for my family's products.

What Changed? Why Did I Decide to Become A "Selling" Consultant?

After about a week of use of the skincare line, people starting noticing...as in they were asking me "What's up with your skin, Kimberley?" "What are you doing?" "Your skin looks so good, what are you doing to it?" "Kimberley, did you start using a medical grade face stuff from your derm?" Y'all, I started gaining confidence. Something I had never experienced in my life!!!! As the weeks went on, the questions did too. After a month, I had numerous people wanting to purchase what I was using. That is how I became a selling consultant. Business kept picking up and with Mary Kay's generous 50% commission on everything you sell on top of ALL THE PRIZES, I became addicted. I became addicted to helping others feel good about themselves and have the essential skincare at an affordable price all while helping my family and gaining confidence in my own skin.

Why Did You Name Your Business "Chasing Beautiful"?

I chose the name Chasing Beautiful as a blanket name for my businesses because the phrase defines me to the core. I have chased beautiful or the idea of beautiful since I can remember. I FINALLY FOUND IT! I did not find beautiful in my Mary Kay products. I did not find beautiful in my Matilda Jane Clothes. I found beautiful within myself through Jesus Christ. It was there all along. Now, most of you probably have known that much longer than I have, but it took me a while to get there haha! Mary Kay products make my skin feel great and I look beautiful in the mirror. I can go without makeup with confidence thanks to my Mary Kay regimen and not be in pain from Rosacea. My Matilda Jane clothes make me feel pretty and sassy and y'all know I like that!

So, my business Chasing Beautiful will hopefully appeal to you and anyone else that has ever walked a mile in my shoes and has ever felt less than. After praying for what seemed like a lifetime, I feel that God revealed the name to me. My prayer is to use my business....my brand...to help women and men have amazing quality skincare at an affordable price while making them look as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside. So my friends....let's stop chasing beautiful.  We are beautiful. We are enough. Let’s shine. Let’s let His light shine through us, so all may know Him.

The Founder.

I am Kimberley Mullins, Founder and Owner of Chasing Beautiful. I am a mom of two boys who are 5 and 7. I have 3 furry babies named Daisy Mae, Sergeant Pepper la Schnoo, and Stella Rose. I am a wound care/home health nurse taking a temporary hiatus to care for my 7 year old. I am in nurse practitioner school and homeschool my 7 year old. I am a cancer survivor. My motto is to “Be Someone’s Sunshine Today”. This is a quote from the greatest mom to ever live, my most precious “M”, Regina Cook Clifton. I credit her for helping me become the lady I am . My children like to tell everyone they meet that I am happy and laugh all the time. Guilty as charged! I have not always been this way though. You see, happiness is a choice. It is soooooo hard to achieve. Before I could accomplish this ultimate goal, I had to find Jesus. Through Him I had to learn to love all of me and be thankful for what I deemed as imperfections. I have found so much happiness since making this change. If you have not found a happiness like this, I pray that you do.

The Mommy.

I love being the mommy of 2 boys. It is my favorite title I have.

The Nurse.

After years of working in the legal field, the Lord showed me that He wanted my path to transition to the medical field. I have been blessed to provide care for over 10 years to patients who have bcome my family.

The Fur Mommy to Daisy Mae.

Daisy Mae is a 9 year old teacup yorkie rescue. Fun fact: Daisy Mae and I share a birthday!

The Fur Mommy to Sergeant Pepper la Schnoo.

Pepper or “Pep Pep” is a Giant Schnoodle. The original plan was her to be a therapy dog. Little did I know just how big she would be. I taught her to stand on her back legs, put her front arms and paws around me, then squeeze. In other words, I taught her to hug. She was definitely the best therapy dog while I was undergoing cancer treatment.

The Fur Mommy to Stella Rose.

Stella Rose is the newest addition to our family. She is a 2 year old yorkie rescue that we adopted in May. She has already stolen our hearts!
