If you are anything like I was before joining Mary Kay, I had no idea where to start when it came to picking out a shade of lipstick. I was easily overwhelmed and gave up quickly after feeling like I needed a change in my life…even if it was as small as a change in the shade of my lipstick. I finally got the help I needed and now I would love to help you too! Once you figure out your skin tone, determining what shade of lipstick is for you will be fun!

Ivory Skin Tones
Ivory skin tones is generally creamy white, like the color of an elephant's ivory tusk. Those with ivory skin tone often have a yellow, peach, pink, or gold undertone. Of the three main white or light skin tones, porcelain skin is the lightest color, alabaster skin is darker, and ivory is the darkest of the three.
Blue-based reds are wonderful for that bold lip look. Red Stiletto 👠 is a popular choice for those who prefer a semi-matte finish. If you prefer a semi-shine look, check out Love me Pink. For a color that looks great on all, check out the semi-matte blue-based color Crushed Berry. And in semi-shine, check out Apple Berry. Beige Skin Tones
Beige skin tone is a skin color that is white to light brown. It belongs to the color spectrum of olive. This skin tone usually looks more tanned.
Classic, warm reds, and reds with hits of orange look amazing on this skin tone as well as caramel colors.
Check out Poppy Please with that hint of orange. Better Than Bare, Rich Truffle, and Subdued Nude have the caramel color on point.
Bronze Skin Tones
Bronze skin tone is a brown skin tone with golden or red undertones. Compared to caramel skin tone, bronze skin tone is a little darker. Moreover, bronze skin tone is a Type V skin tone on the Fitzpatrick scale, meaning it rarely burns and tans easily.
